The Science behind Laser Hair
Laser Hair Removal with a laser targets the hair follicle within the skin and is now the ‘Gold Standard’ , meaning it the best way to remove and permanently reduce hair.
A LASER is a machine that uses focused laser energy, delivers more accurate energy to targets within the skin and is a more effective method of treatment than Intense Pulse Light. With laser energies you will have fewer appointments and quicker results.
Each laser machine contains certain chemicals in solid or liquid states that emits a laser light.
Every laser is different but the ND Yag laser is a long wavelength laser at 1064 nanometers within the skin and is considered the best. The diagram tells you why. At 1064nm within the skin this wavelength is a perfect energy to target where the hair bulb is sitting within the skin.

Laser Hair Removal Faq
Laser removal is the most effective treatment as it targets the fair follicle at the root. It is permanent removal but permanent reduction. Most people experience a 70%-90% reduction provided 4-6 sessions is completed at regular intervals. Once this is followed you will only need a few tops up after a few years later. Your appointment will usually be with the Senior therapist. We will take a medical history and then if safe perform a Patch Test. This is the area that needs treatment to see how your skin reacts, what laser energies are best to get optimal results and check your skin does not suffer any complications.
You cannot have laser treatment if you have Light sensitive Epilepsy, are pregnant or breastfeeding, are on certain medications. We recommend stopping all acids like Glycolic acid, Benozyl Peroxide ( acne treatment) , Retinols 3 days prior. If you have any queries please ring or call us.
You can call or WhatsApp the clinic and speak with reception who will book you in for a consultation or patch test or check your laser records and book your repeat appointments. After your patch test you can have your first full treatment 1-2 weeks after depending on your skin type and case.
There may be signs you need to change to a more experienced and more effective laser and your settings may need to be adjusted. We advise to contact your current provider and obtain your Laser Treatment Record and name of laser so we can review these and then formulate a further treatment plan. Adjusting the pulse width and energies of the laser often achieves superior results.
Laser hair removal is performed by our experienced laser therapist unless the indication is a medical issue where by the doctor needs to treat you. The laser therapist knows when to liaise with doctor to ensure your safety at all times.

We treat all adults and children from Teens depending on their maturity and how they will cope with the treatment. For Children Dr Prasad will perform a consultation first and gain parental consent.
