Chemical Peels
A chemical peel is a treatment whereby a type of chemical peel solution is applied to the skin to improve and smooth the texture of the skin. The solution contains certain types of acids which when applied penetrate to diferent levels of the skin. Facial skin is mostly treated although any area can be treated (provided it is safe to do so).
A light chemical peel will smooth the skin and remove dead skin cells and is great to give you a fresh glow pre event or holiday ( we do advise sunscreen after each chemical peel). Deeper peels are very effective at removing sun damage and pigmentation, reducing pore size and acne scarring.

Different peels have different ‘down times’ , this means that that for a period of time after the peel your skin will feel red, tight and peel off and this can happen in different severities which means with the more severe peels there is usually more ‘down time’ requiring you to take time off. Dr Prasad will always factor this into your treatment plan. We can plan to do these peels towards the mid/end of the week so that maximal peeling will occur at the week-end.

Chemical Peels Faq
We use Chemical Peels formulated in California, US from ZO Skin Health. The forumulations on each peel has been rigorously tested and the percentages and ingredients modified in such a way as to give you optimal, effective and safe results.
Many of the more deeper peels if you have skin of colour ( Asian/Afro-carribean skin) needs creams to be started to prevent hyper-pigmentation and complications and we use ZO Skin Health products or prescription products for this to ensure highest levels of result and safety.
The Hydrafacial and the ZO Stimulator Peels are light superficial chemical peels perfect for refreshing and reviving your skin and you can walk in or book in and have this done and do not require a consultation.
The other peels will be performed by Dr Prasad and require you to be on medical grade skin care to ensure your skin cells are in an optimum state to react to the peel. You will initially require a consultation and the prices quoted above included treatment and creams to use after.
This is dependent on the type of problem we are treating. A chemical peel is a corrective treatment for many skin problems but to gain the best results and to ensure your results lasts we always recommend medical grade skin care and we may recommend other treatments like lasers etc.
